งานดีไซน์รีโนเวทพื้นที่ชั้น 1 ของสำนักพิมพ์ P.S. Publishing ให้เป็นพื้นที่คาเฟ่ขายไอศกรีม – ขายหนังสือ – สต็อกหนังสือ – พื้นที่อเนกประสงค์สำหรับประชุมหรือจัดกิจกรรมต่างๆ โดย Everyday Architect Design Studio
โดยงานดีไซน์ชั้นหนังสือในร้านนี้ ถือเป็นการ upcycling แผ่นเพลทอลูมิเนียมพิมพ์หนังสือที่เหลือจากกระบวนการของโรงพิมพ์ของตัวสำนักพิมพ์เองอีกด้วย เราตั้งใจนำวัสดุเหลือใช้นี้มาทดลองพับแบบซ้อนชั้นเป็นบานเกล็ดและสามารถใช้เป็นชั้นวางหนังสือได้ ซึ่งผิวเงาสะท้อนของอลูมิเนียมนั้นก็เป็น background ที่ดีและช่วยขับสีให้กับปกหนังสือของสำนักพิมพ์ที่มักมีสีสันโดดเด่นอยู่แล้ว นอกจากดีเทลของชั้นโชว์หนังสือแล้ว แผ่นอลูมิเนียมนี้ยังถูกพับให้เป็นแผ่นท็อปของโต๊ะบาร์อีกด้วย
ซึ่งโครงสร้างที่เข้าไปจับกับตัวดีเทลแผ่นเพลทอลูมิเนียมนี้ เรายังคงเลือกใช้เหล็กฉากเจาะรูฟีลโกดังเช่นเคย ซึ่งส่วนหนึ่งถูกใช้ทำเป็นชั้นวางสำหรับจัดเก็บสต็อกหนังสือ แต่เราก็ยังพยายามทดลองใช้วัสดุนี้สร้างสเปซให้หลากหลายยิ่งขึ้น ทั้งเป็นเสาและโครงฝ้า โดยโครงฝ้านี้ถูกออกแบบให้สามารถใช้แขวนป้ายหรือผ้าในช่วงเวลาอีเว้นท์หรือกิจกรรมได้อีกด้วย
The design renovation of the first floor at P.S. Publishing transforms the space into a café selling ice cream and books, as well as a versatile area for meetings and various events.
Focusing on the front gate design serves as both a creative statement and an innovative experiment in upcycling. By repurposing leftover aluminum plates from the publisher’s printing factory, we transformed discarded materials into a striking bookshelf-like structure that showcases book covers in an artistic and functional way. The folded layers of aluminum not only mimic the arrangement of books on a shelf but also create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The reflective surface of the metal provides a bold contrast, accentuating the vivid colors of the book covers and drawing attention to the publisher’s literary collection. This design not only celebrates sustainability but also reinforces the essence of P.S. Publishing—where every story finds a place to shine.
In addition, this plates design also incorporates it as a bar table top, continues to use slotted angle metal bars, a material favored by Everyday, as part of the structural framework, which is integrated with the detailed aluminum printing plates as well.
