Thai Local Sauce | Exhibition

Everyday Architect was commissioned to design a 25-square-meter exhibition showcasing “Thai Local Sauce.” The challenge was to display 60 different sauce brands from across Thailand within a structure that is modular and easily transportable to future venues.

The “Thai Kitchen” Atmosphere The design theme reinterprets the concept of a contemporary Thai House. The exhibition acts as a welcoming home, inviting visitors to step inside and explore the “kitchen.” The color palette was carefully selected to reflect the bold, spicy, and salty flavors of Thai condiments.

Structural deconstructed the symbolism of the traditional Thai house, specifically drawing inspiration from the lines of the roof eaves. This resulted in a triangular structure. When paneled with wood on both sides, it mimics the appearance of a roofline from the exterior. Functionally, this triangular form allows the structure to stand alone without requiring additional footing or foundations.

The design also incorporates forms inspired by kitchen counters and shelving units. Modular Layout The exhibition is composed of 9 structural modules. These can be assembled to create an enclosed space. For this specific installation, the layout was curated into three main zones;

* Zone 1: SAUCETALGIA – Visitors are invited to recall the “tastes” of familiar menus through storytelling cooking videos.

* Zone 2: SAUCE, SOURCE – A display of over 60 sauce brands that have captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike, arranged on tiered shelving.

* Zone 3: SAUCE POWER – An exploration of the economic potential of Thai sauces and seasonings, presented through a simulated Thai grocery store setup.
